Georgia Map Information

The last of the countries original 13 colonies, Georgia was established in 1732. Georgia ranks #9 in population, and is growing rapidly. East of the Mississippi River, Georgia actually has the most land area of any state. Their warm temperate climate has resulted in a wonderful habitat for many species of animals as well as plants and trees. Most of the state is considered hot and humid, receiving a large amount of rain. Many people consider the state to be almost tropical in many areas.
The states motto is “Wisdom, Justice, Moderation” and it’s largely referred to by one of it’s nicknames, the “Peach State”. The state flower is the “Cherokee Rose” and the state bird is the “Brown Thrasher”.
